This week I want to talk about why the professionals set the diopter of their LPVO scopes so that they are a TRUE 1x magnification.
Agreed, we were always taught to set the diopter so that the reticle was crystal clear, and I agree that on MOST scopes that is still true.
However, with a LPVO it's done different. Why? Well, because the job of a LPVO is to be a true 1x scope 80 percent of the time. It's to allow you, the rifleman, to use it as a Red Dot. Then, IF you need magnification for a longer range shot, you can just dial up the magnification. Again, the primary job is as a Red Dot. Imagine buying a new red dot or EOTech and it NOT being 1x... you would lose your shit. Likewise, we need that LPVO to be a true 1x for up close personal encounters.
I hope you enjoy the video. TR
