This test platform was developed by Shandor Dektor to demonstrate the work described in Dan Sheinfelds thesis, "Optimal control for despin of underactuated tumbling satellites". By aligning the center of gravity of the tumbler with the sting point, gravity torque can be eliminated. The actuator was a cold gas thruster (paintball air tank on the top, thruster underneath). Gyros were also mounted to the board for estimation, control was done offboard over radio using Matlab Simulink.
