A simple and accessible indoor 30-minute activity! Materials required are cold to lukewarm water, a glass or glossed ceramic plate (preferably a solid color), and a dry erase marker. In this activity, we will draw on our plates with a dry erase marker, then pour water and watch the drawing “come to life!” How does it work? Unlike permanent markers, dry erase marker ink is less sticky and dense so it can be erased after. In combination with its water insolubility, the solid marker particles maintain shape and slide right off the smooth plate surface when wet!
