This is another of my all time favorite movies "The Great Escape" from 1963 and I wanted to recreate the movie version of the famous song "Yankee Doodle".
Here on YouTube you can find the version of this song featured in the original soundtrack ([ Ссылка ] and [ Ссылка ]), but there are of the differences between the one actually used in the movie (missing some parts including the whistling at the end of the track). For this reason, I created a version inspired by the one in the scene in which the American prisoners celebrate the 4th of July by inviting the British to join the festivities by serving their own potato moonshine.
Scene from the film where they prepare the drink and 4th of July Celebration: [ Ссылка ]
I have watched and re-watched this movie countless times and it is always very impressive and entertaining...not to mention the wonderful actors on set such as Steve McQueen, Donald Pleasence, Charles Bronson, Richard Attenborough, James Coburn and many more. Also, the great Elmer Bernstein composed a perfect score for this 60s classic (I also loved his incredible work for the films "The Magnificent Seven" from 1960, "Ghostbusters" from 1984 and "Oscar" from 1991).
One day I would like to recreate the wonderful theme, but I will need some orchestral VSTs to be able to faithfully recreate it.
I hope you liked this idea :)
