How Muslims overcome the fear of death, according to the Quran and Islamic Hadees.
Every soul will taste death” (Quran 3:185)
“Verily, the hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world)" (Quran 93:4)
“It is He who created death and life, that He may test which of you is best in deeds” (Quran 67:2).
1. Remember that death is a part of life: According to the Quran, “Every soul will taste death” (Quran 3:185). Death is inevitable, and it is something that everyone must face. It is important to remember that death is a natural part of life and to accept it as part of God’s plan.
2. Believe in the hereafter: Believing in the hereafter can help to ease the fear of death. The Quran says, “Verily, the hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world)" (Quran 93:4). Knowing that there is a life after death and that good deeds will be rewarded can help to alleviate the fear of death.
3. Have faith in Allah: Having faith in Allah is an important way to overcome the fear of death. The Quran states, “It is He who created death and life, that He may test which of you is best in deeds” (Quran 67:2). Knowing that Allah is in control and that He has a plan for us can help us to have faith in His plan and accept death as part of it.
4. Follow the example of the Prophets:
The prophets are models for us in many aspects of life, including dealing with death. By learning about the way that the prophets dealt with death, we can gain insight into how to face our own mortality in a peaceful and accepting way.
One example of a prophet dealing with death is that of the Prophet Muhammad. When his beloved wife Khadija passed away, he mourned her deeply, yet he found solace in the teachings of the Quran, which told him that death was a natural part of life and that Allah would provide him with comfort. This example shows us that in the face of death, we can find comfort in our faith and in the teachings of our spiritual leaders.
Another example is that of the Prophet Abraham. When his son and heir, Ishmael, passed away, Abraham felt immense grief and sorrow. However, he accepted the will of Allah, and did not rail against Him in despair. Instead, he turned to prayer and supplication, seeking solace from Allah in his time of grief. This example teaches us that even in the depths of despair, we can turn to our faith to find comfort and solace.
