It’s Tourette’s Awareness Month!! (15th May-15th June) 🙌🏻 
Following the TA theme for 2024, this video talks about a hidden part of Tourette’s not many people see: the pain.

I’ve been in hospitals many times due to my tics, and they’ve caused me so many injuries. I have chronic neck pain, and muscle spasms every day and lots of people are physically limited by their tics.
It’s important we recognise and educate people on the fact that Tourette’s ISN’T just swearing or funny words—it’s a complex condition causing so many hidden struggles! 🧠

→ Tourette’s Action (our UK TS charity) is running a campaign this year called “Tourette’s Hurts” highlighting the pain and physical impact of our tics. Living with Tourette’s isn’t fun or easy, despite some of our tics seeming lighthearted or entertaining at times 🎗️

You can find their website and information below - they run yearly residential trips, and support groups, give talks and have lots of advice and info for people with TS & their families 💙👇🏻

My name is Zara Beth (zeezee25 on tiktok) and I post videos about disability, neurodiversity and living with Tourette's Syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and Orthostatic Hypotension. Tourette's syndrome is a neurological condition causing involuntary movements called tics.
I use my social media (TikTok, YouTube & Instagram) to advocate and raise awareness for my conditions and share what it's like living as a neurodivergent and disabled person. I am autistic, sharing my sensory struggles along with my experiences with mental health disorders.
