A preview of "commodity" as anthropologists use the term. Other important terms and concepts covered include: fetishism, capitalism, alienation, market, bourgeoisie (owners of property, sometimes called "capitalists"), proletariat, Commodity (fetish/exchange) value (realised in exchange, e.g. 1kg of gold appears more valuable), use value (realised without exchange, e.g. 1kg of steel knives are more valuable).
