Effective Microorganisms (EM) are mixed cultures of beneficial naturally-occurring organisms that can be applied as inoculants to increase the microbial diversity of the soil ecosystem. They consist mainly of photosynthesizing bacteria, lactic acid bacteria, yeasts, actinomycetes, and fermenting fungi.

With this video, we will be culturing Lactobacillus bacteria that we will be using for plants and improving soil microbial activity. These Effective Microorganisms have a range of properties - they improve root growth, strengthen plants' immune systems, make nutrients more beneficial to plants and increase the shelf life of fruit and vegetables.
