WILLOW'S STORY
Willow and her barn owl partner Ghost began courting early this year but were ousted by from their first choice of nest, Sycamore Stump, by the kestrels. It seems that nowhere else would do because the pair waited until the kestrel chicks fledged before returning to nest here. Watch the moment they moved back in here: [ Ссылка ]
BARN OWL EGGS
Barn owls here at Fotherdale typically lay between five and seven eggs every two to three days, so keep an eye on the livestream over the next day or so to watch her lay her next egg: [ Ссылка ]
A LATE BROOD
It is a little late for barn owls to lay, however these birds can breed at any time of year if the food is there and I have seen them on eggs in October before. It isn't ideal because chicks can be caught in bad weather when trying to fledge in autumn.

I am a British wildlife artist based in Thixendale, North Yorkshire, UK. I build ideal habitats to encourage wildlife into my garden and use nest cams to study their behaviour. These studies inform my paintings. I share the best of my video research on this channel for free. If you would like to support my work please consider a small donation here: [ Ссылка ]
Or of course you may like to purchase my artwork which you will find on my website: [ Ссылка ]. Many of the paintings are portraits of the creatures you watch here!
