I get asked all the time if you should silicone or caulk around a toilet. I always say yes and no. what you do not want to do is seal the entire base of the toilet bowl. If the toilet seal is ever compromised than you will never know that your toilet is leaking from the base. This will cause major damage to your subfloor.
