After their defeat at Marathon, the Persians prepared for retaliation against the Greeks.
Their second invasion was at a scale, unlike anything the ancient world had ever seen.
King Leonidas of Sparta together with an elite band of 300 hoplites and a few thousand Greeks attempted to check the invasion at a small pass called "Thermopyles".
