I got my hands on a used StarTech Dual mSata to 2.5" SATA Adapter in order to throw together some mSata drives I had lying around. The drives came from a Samsung Portable SSD T5 and a Surface Pro 3. Two biggest mSata drives I own.
Surface Pro 3 - Screen was broken and I don't need it anymore, so I removed the drive.
Samsung T5 - I bought it for storage but I don't really need the portability aspect which combined with the lack of USB 3/USB-C connectors on my PC resulted in me disassembling and implementing it within the adapter. I'll most likely re-utilise the housing and board for another mSata I have lying around.
Honestly, the adapter is great if you have mSata drives lying around, as a way to reduce e-waste/recycling. But, I only can recommend it if you can get your hands on the StarTech adapter for cheap (used maybe?). Because nobody wants to pay more for the adapter than a SSD with planned equivalent storage.
