For centuries northern Pakistan has been an area of transit of the Sufi saints coming from Central Asia and Persia. These scholars have spread their lessons of peace, serenity, sharing, love and friendship throughout the whole territory that remains imbued with their words of wisdom and beauty. This tradition lives on from generation to generation. The ancient poems and proverbs are kept being told and the music is rooted in the hearts and the souls of all the inhabitants. Thus, in northern Pakistan, these popular traditions are very much present despite the barriers created by high mountain chains. People gather together on a regular basis to sing these mystical poems/Ginans, Qaidas.

Since his childhood, Mr. Abid Karim sings carry softly, alone or in a group. It was his premiere in France. This talented and earnest musician deserves to be discovered by all Sufi music fans.
