DESCRIPTION: Not all gluten-free diets are created equal! While the GFD was once nearly impossible to accommodate, nowadays gluten-free foods seem to be just about everywhere, often with an implied claim that they are health foods. Our guests Beckee Moreland, restaurateur, gluten-free foodservice consultant, former director of the Beyond Celiac GREAT Kitchens program and certified in culinary nutrition, and Julie Kennedy, RD and long-time Beyond Celiac volunteer, will discuss food for the gluten-free community, ways to maximize enjoyment on the GFD without sacrificing nutrition, how to balance the less-than-healthy aspects of gluten-free food, and ideas to get kids engaged and involved in choosing foods for life, leaning on whole foods as a base.
