A series of five school science programmes, each of which examines a single topic and uses individual stories, computer graphics, animation and demonstrations to illustrate more general scientific ideas.
The programmes are: The Greenhouse effect; Variety and survival; Solids, liquids and gases; Variables; Machines.

2 Which extra jobs might the following two organisms be fit to do apart from being a producer or a consumer? What do they give back to the environment?

3 What sports are the four people pictured good for? Discuss the differences between them that might make them better suited to their sport.
4 List a few features that make people different, as shown in the video.
5 Name 3 things that the pupils measured when they looked at the daisies.
6 What do we mean by the tern SURVIVAL?
7 What hazards do humans face while growing up? Name at least 2.
8 What hazards do ducklings face in the water? What hazards do they face out of the water? Which is safest?
9 Explain the term EXTINCTION.
10 How do you think dinosaurs got to be extinct? (Extension: Can you think of a few other theories? Is there evidence to support this?
11 Which animal / plant / insect do you judge to be able to survive best? Why?
12 List 3 basic necessities of human life.
