The Banat Bulgarian language in Romania has retained its peculiar archaic features and has been only little influenced by Romanian or other neigboring languages. Ioan Vasilcin goes through a range of Banat Bulgarian books written by language activists on achieving language standardizsation, keeping the language alive for the community members and spreading religious and cultural knowledge among the group.
