Recorded on Thursday 22 July 2021, as part of the Royal Society of Medicine's COVID-19 Series.
This episode looks at the links between ventilation and the transmission of airborne diseases such as Covid-19.
We discuss what we know about transmission and ventilation, the risks on transport, in offices and other enclosed locations, and how a focus on air quality could impact society beyond the pandemic.
The panel includes Professor Catherine Noakes, Professor of Environmental Engineering for Buildings at the University of Leeds and member of SAGE, and Professor Gabriel Scally, past-President of the RSM’s Epidemiology and Public Health Section and member of Independent SAGE, and chaired by Dr John Moore-Gillon, Consultant Physician Emeritus, St Bartholomew's Hospital.
The RSM COVID-19 Series is for health professionals, by health professionals; a series of talks dedicated to give healthcare workers on the frontline, regular and easy-to-access updates from healthcare leaders on COVID-19.
