Davao Occidental is the newest province in the Philippines, the 81st in the list. It is located in the southern most part in the Philippines sharing sea borders with Indonesia. The Province is a former part of Davao del Sur and was carved out to become a separate Province in 2013. Administratively divided into 5 towns in which the town of Malita was chosen as the Provincial capital. Davao Occidental The land of possibilities yet the newest Province but have shown potentials to become an economic hub in the Archipelago.
