Looking it up since this video, apparently it's called "Post-series depression" or "post-series blues". It helps us learn about loss in a way that's only small and not so overwhelming that we can't cope. In that sense, I'm saying nothing at all remarkable in this video. We all know stories are a great way for us to experience lots of different feelings and emotions. It helps us to process our own in a way that's not overwhelming because we do it through a fictional character instead. And if that's true, then I guess the ultimate experience to process comes with the ending of a story. How do we manage that? What happens to us when we close the final page of a book or finish a series we've devoted a lot of our recent life to?
