📚 Urgyen Rinpoche, Tibetan Buddhist master, reflects on the nature of the mind, which is constantly producing thoughts, one after the other, like beads on a string. However, the essence of each of these thoughts is emptiness, and recognizing this is the key to attaining stability and enlightenment. Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche argues that we already possess Buddha nature, but unless we recognize it, we cannot benefit from it. The practice of recognizing mind essence is simple and effective, and is not dependent on any particular method or tradition. The author emphasizes the importance of deliberate mindfulness and the need to allow for a continuity free from thought. When we become distracted, we must recognize it and bring our attention back to the present moment. By cultivating this practice, we can meet with Buddha nature and attain a state of inherent stability in emptiness.
