In a shocking reveal, Ali stated he were primarily responsible for the writing of a diamond-selling album, yet received no official writing credit. Despite having written the majority of the work, his name does not appear on any singles or album credits. Ali expressed dismay at his lack of recognition, citing they had shared their lyrics freely out of loyalty to the group and the hope of "getting on." He refers to having written multiple verses and hooks, and even initially conceiving the ideas for songs. Looking back, Ali expresses regret for not claiming official credit at the time. Despite this, it appears he continued to work on and write music even after the album's meteoric success.
