The artificial lake of Aoos' river springs constitute an important natural habitat (biotope) in the "Politsa" plateau. Verdant banks surround the artificial lake of Aoos' river springs, creating an amazing scenery.
The lake was created through the construction of a hydroelectric dam. It is just half an hour drive to the northwest part of Metsovo. After Profitis Ilias, the route turns to the left, passes by "Niazi" and reaches the top of the lake. It takes about fifty minutes to go around the lake. The view is amazing.
Free mountain Pindus horses and cattle grazing freely in the forest, hawks searching for prey, sculptured rocks reflecting the sun and exceptionally tall trees of all kinds compose the picture of rare natural beauty.
