The Soviet regime quickly understood that hungry people could not resist and viciously implemented this policy: from 1921 to 1947, artificial famines were A WEAPON of Stalin, and millions of Ukrainians starved to death in a genocide that became known as the Holodomor: 'a death from hunger.' We commemorate the victims on the 4th Saturday of November each year.
