Fever! is an opera for 8-12 year olds that was first performed in 2003 by school pupils to audiences of friends and family as part of our annual Primary Schools Tour. Between then and 2016, just over 24,000 children have taken part in 389 schools across Scotland.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Scottish Opera has been unable to continue with our scheduled school programme - so we took Fever! out of storage and reinvented it, this time teaching the music and dances via online videos. Each young person learned the songs for all three character groups (The Medics, The Press & Media and The Body).
In June 2020, we performed the show live on YouTube to young people across the country and beyond for them to perform along with us - so we could all join in together safely from home.
