This is how to power on a Toshiba Fire TV so that it displays an HDMI port vs built-in Fire TV. The reason that I do this is because the integrated FireTV does not allow the Toshiba Fire TV's remote to control the sound bar. To enable my Toshiba Fire TV to control the sound bar, I purchased a Fire TV Stick 4K and it's plugged into HDMI 1. After performing this procedure, the Toshiba Fire TV now displays HDMI 1 (instead of the integrated Fire TV) when I power it on using the Fire TV Stick 4K's remote. That remote allows me to control the volume on my sound bar too! I'm still stumped as to why Toshiba Fire TV's remote control cannot control a sound bar. It seems silly to have to use a Fire TV Stick 4K to unlock that functionality! #FireTV
