Western Jordan is a key part of a wider area known as ‘the Holy Land’ and is home to several important Christian and Biblical places. Bethany Baptism Site, is archaeological World Heritage Site, on the bank of the Jordan River reputed to be the original location of the Baptism of Jesus Christ by John the Baptist. Mount Nebo is where Moses, according to Bible stories was granted a view of the Promised Land. The 6th century Madaba Map in Greek Baptist Church is, to this day, the oldest known map of the Holyland and is a treasure of Christian history. This tour was done as a day trip from Amman on the way to Dead Sea.
