Ukraine was the site of many Nazi atrocities committed during World War 2. September 29th marks the 76th anniversary of the Babi Yar massacre, in Kyiv. The day marks the massacre of over 33 thousand Jews by Nazi forces. Tens of thousands of others - Roma, Soviet soldiers, Ukrainian nationalists, and suspected Communists - were also executed at the Babi Yar ravine. Now it's a park and memorial site.
