- Platinum silicone is sensitive to specific chemicals and gloves nitrile, latex, vinyl, tin silicone, most all silicone mold products and even hot stick glue guns. It may react to it on contact on surface and stay sticky or contamination may prevent from completely drying.
One solution is force the drying process by putting it in a toaster oven at 150F at 10m. Don't worry the silicone can handle up to 400F. Make sure your part can handle the heat otherwise, drop the heat and keep it in a longer duration time. ( you may get a temporary petroleum type of smell that will go away while in the oven)
2- Mix it thoroughly. Observe the container make sure the corners have been stirred properly. If you are wearing a latex glove DON'T stick your finger in the container or left over residue scrape back into the container. Rule number one. Platinum hates latex, nitrile, vinyl gloves. As long as your hands are not in the container away from the silicone contact, you are fine wearing the gloves.
