Batu caves is a limestone hill having several caves and cave temples of Hindu Gods, like Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh, Kartikeya etc. It is located about 12 kms from Kuala Lumpur City Center. We went by train (30-40 minutes) as we had to explore the KTM train communication of KL. You can also go by bus/taxi. There is a huge spectacular golden color statue (140 ft) of Lord Murugan/ Kartikeya in the front. You have to climb about 272 steps to reach the cave on the hill. The caves are interesting as you can see in the pictures. You can see stalagmites stalactites in the caves. At some places water drops were falling from the top. Unlike Indian Caves, the inside is very well lighted. Entry is free. Everybody is allowed, Hindus or non-Hindus. You can see many Indians here in the temple and around. Photography is allowed inside the caves.
