(Part 2 of 2)* (Part 1: [ Ссылка ])
April 29, 2022 marks 10 years since the death of Allentown rapper O Head, a.k.a. Michael Randolph, who was 23 when a security guard, Andrew Gesslein, shot him in the back as he was retreating from an altercation at a night club. Randolph was unarmed.
Gesslein was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and was serving a mandatory minimum sentence of five years’ incarceration until 2015, when a Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision enabled Judge Robert Steinberg to resentence Gesslein, which freed the convicted man after he served 31 months for the killing.
*This episode revisits Gesslein's trial and his controversial resentencing, posing questions for listeners to consider.
