Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Costume Mode is the latest DLC from Wayforward. It includes three new modes: NInja Mode, Beach Mode, and Officer Mode. In Ninja Mode, Shantae strives to learn the way of the ninja. She can now run more quickly, wall jump, teleport, and toss throwing stars at foes. In beach mode, Shantae can attack enemies with her signature hair whip and also a beach ball. She also has a bubble move that allows her to float in the air, but it can pop, leaving her to fall. In Beach Mode, Shantae moves more quickly in water. Shantae is vulnerable to the sun and will get burned unless she collects sunscreen throughout the level or jumps into the water. In Officer Mode, a mode based off another WayForward series Mighty Switch Force, Shantae can switch blocks that are throughout the stage to solve puzzles and allow her to progress. She also has a pellet gun to use for a weapon.
