You will want to try this, so delicious!
Ingredients
Pizza Dough:
3 cups bread flour, plus more for rolling
2 ¼ teaspoon dry active yeast (or 1 packet)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup warm water (100-110 degrees)
1 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoon olive oil, plus more for coating top of pizza dough and bowl.
Toppings:
1-pound ground beef
2 cups mozzarella cheese
1 cup manchego cheese
½ white onion, sliced
Shredded iceberg lettuce
Pickles, diced
3-4 tablespoons sesame seeds
Big Mac Sauce:
1 ½ cup mayo
¾ cup ketchup
4 tablespoons sweet relish
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Mix together yeast and sugar in bowl.
2. Add warm water and let yeast bloom about 5 minutes. You will start to see the foam/bubbles forming and then you are ready.
3. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix together until dough forms.
4. Coat olive oil on a clean bowl
5. After you have a dough ball take out of bowl and transfer to the bowl coated in olive oil.
6. Cover with plastic wrap or a damp towel, let dough rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
*Start here if using pre-made dough*
7. While your dough is rising, cook the ground beef with some salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Drain excess fat if need be and set aside to cool off.
8. In separate bowl, mix together mayo, ketchup, relish, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create Big Mac sauce.
9. Shred your cheeses and set aside.
10. At this point you will need to preheat your oven to 500 degrees.
11. Once pizza dough has doubled in size remove from bowl and place on pre-floured surface.
12. With your hands push dough out into a circle and roll out with a rolling pin. Once you have the size pizza you are happy with transfer to pizza dish.
13. Once dough is on pizza dish or stone fold over the edges to make a crust or just crimped the sides to form a crust (depending on how thick you want your crust) I chose in this video to fold the sides.
14. Pour about 2 tablespoons of olive oil on pizza dough and carefully spread across.
15. Fork the bottom of the dough, this will help prevent the dough getting huge bubbles when cooking.
16. Sprinkle sesame seeds on the crust.
17. Add ½ cup to ¾ cup of Big Mac sauce to the dough and spread evenly.
18. Add ground beef to pizza.
19. Top with cheeses.
20. Bake for 20 minutes at 500 degrees (oven temps may vary, keep an eye on your cooking pizza especially for the last 5 minutes).
21. While pizza is cooking this is time for you to cut up your onions, pickles, and lettuce.
22. Remove pizza from oven and top with dollops of Big Mac sauce, diced pickles, sliced onions, and shredded lettuce.
23. Salt and pepper shredded lettuce once on pizza.
Helpful Info:
You do not need a stand mixer to make pizza dough, a bowl and wooden spoon will work perfectly.
If you prefer a thinner style crust pizza, cut your pizza dough in half.
If you don’t have a rolling pin, you can use your hands to form the pizza or use a wine bottle instead or something else round like to roll.
If you don’t have bread flour or can’t find it in stores (I went to 3 stores to find some lol) all-purpose flour will work as a replacement. Bread flour makes the pizza crust crispier on the outside and chewy and textured on the inside.
The Big Mac sauce recipe makes plenty of sauce but I enjoyed dipping the crust in the sauce so that was a plus.
