This video demonstrates the impulse response capture technique used my Msc Audio and Music Technology final research project - 'Intelligent binaural rendering system for Augmented Reality' - at the university of York
This project involves the analysis of the acoustic properties of a voice in different environments and so accurate impulse responses that can represent a human voice are essential. This data will then be used to adjust spatial effects parameters within an augmented reality game or application.
This setup includes a macbook pro which produces an exponential sine sweep with a range of 20Hz - 20kHz. However, this will be filtered in order to fully resemble the human vocal tract.
The KEMAR Manikin has a loudspeaker located in the mouth, this will emit the sine sweep.
As the project is being developed for mobile application, all recordings are being taken on an ipad pro. This will further represent the acoustic data in real world application.
