Hi Laser Scanner Community,
Trimble has released 2 new mobile mapping solutions. On the one hand, this is the mobile mapping system Trimble MX50. This is a laser based surveying system for road surveying, city inventory and also for construction site control. The mobile laser system allows measuring volumes and profiles. Besides the laser, the Trimble MX50 is equipped with a panoramic camera and precise GPS tracking. Due to its compact design, the system can be easily installed on different vehicle platforms. The Trimble MX50 is a mid-priced mobile mapping measurement system below the flagship Trimble MX9.
The new track measurement system Trimble GEDO GX50 was also introduced. This system is used for mobile surveying and inspection of track measuring systems in railway operations. By using a new laser module, it is now possible to use 2 lasers, which can be arranged in different ways. This results in significantly better capturing configurations. The Trimble Gedo MX50 is an interesting advancement. Previously, other Trimble 3D scanners or OEM of FARO scanners were integrated on this system as a profile laser measuring unit.
Both systems use new laser modules, which are probably a further development of the laser module from the Trimble X7, the current terrestrial laser scanner.
