At 4:20 on the morning of Friday, May 19, one of the Es was struck by what is likely a Great Horned Owl. This was extremely dangerous as the E could have easily fallen off the nest before having the capability to fly. The E squawks more than alerts. Both Mom and Dad alerted. Thank goodness all is well! The E could have easily been injured in this attack.
This camera was installed on September 2021. It is part of the awareness and conservation efforts of the Little Miami Conservancy. Established in 1967, this organization seeks to support and improve the area surrounding the Little Miami National Wild and Scenic River in the state of Ohio. The nest is located on a tall Sycamore tree within private land. The pair of eagles have been given no official names by the organization. Because of this I will continue to call them Mr. and Mrs. Little. Last year the Littles successfully raised two beautiful babies, Little 1 and Little 2. They both fledged and were in the area when the stream ended.
