CNN Chief National Security Correspondent Jim Sciutto said this afternoon that President Trump is “creating his own reality” to defend on Russia.
Wolf Blitzer brought up how just days ago, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats said there’s “no dissent” among intel agencies about Russian interference in the election, as well as comments from other intel heads.
But given the questions the President himself has raised––and what Anthony Scaramucci relayed yesterday about his doubts––Sciutto reacted thusly:
“The President’s creating his own reality here and defending his own reality and is clearly still able to hire aides who are willing to defend that same reality that contradicts what the intelligence community has assessed here.”
“We just don’t know,” he added, “inside his head why he continues to stick to that at the expense of the credibility, really, of his own intelligence agencies.”
