Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Combat Fighting Guide
I think that enemies in ACB are too easy to kill. You can quickly defeat most guards by performing simple stuff: hidden blade counter kill/(dodge and combo kill) to kill chain. I would like to share with you my suggestion on how to enjoy combat in ACB more. Tailor it to your needs. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong or add some advice.
I limited Ezio's combat possibilities for balance and based it on unique to the series method: Taunt (AC2's Taunt is just funny).
Taunt disables parry and dodge, enables disarm and stagger. Seekers and Papal Guards special features are not affected by Taunt, but Taunt interrupts attack of every melee footmen (Crossbowman and Rifleman will shoot).
MY COMBAT LIMITATIONS:
1. NO KICK NOR DODGE NOR KILL CHAIN
2. NO PISTOL NOR CROSSBOW NOR THROWING KNIVES NOR SMOKE BOMB
3. NO OWN MEDIUM NOR HEAVY WEAPON USE, NO LONG WEAPON 360° ATTACK, NO RECRUITS
Thanks to my limitations Seekers and Horsemens are now a real and common threat, which finally makes armor upgrades usefull, because ending a fight without a scratch is an acomplishment. My combat focuses around: Hidden Blade, Fist, Short Weapon, Split Combo Kill, Taunt, Grab and Murder/Throw, Disarm, Quick Step, Lock Off Combat, Block, Interrupt Combo Stagger Kill, Sand Throw and Battleground Awerness. I use Counter Kill only when enemy attack would interrupt my execution animation. Horseman during combat is fragile to Air Assasination from Behind and for taking him off the saddle from ground.
A lot of fighting methods which I covered in my combat tutorials from AC2 and ACRev works similar in ACB, so if you are looking for ways to tweak, add finese, bypass difficulty or you need more examples and explanation you can watch them and experiment.
