Hey guys here is my last cover of 2018, an "electro chill" version of "Buried in the Snow" from Final Fantasy VII.
The original song was composed by Nobuo Uematsu and plays during the (painful) exploration of the Great Glacier.

Here i mostly kept the chord progression and allowed myself some freedom with it, and the main melody played with the celesta, + some of the harmony stuff.
My point was to play around with it and transform it into something different. I started soft with ambient pads and the melody.
I kept some "winterish" feeling with the Sleigh Bells and the Triangle.
As the song goes on i added some bass, edm arpeggios and some "big fat" percussions.
Also had a lot of fun with some voices to use as both rhythm and melody parts.
And finally a synth solo as the end!

Everything was recorded "live" and then edited. The synth solo was also built from a bunch improvisations.
