In Hong Kong they work hard and the play hard. On a Friday night you can expect to see people cracking beers all along the waterfront, having a cold drink on their way home from work, or on their way to a restaurant like we did. We traveled from Hong Kong Island over to Kowloon to find one of the dying breeds of Hong Kong restaurants - the Dai Pai Dong. They were once family-owned open-air food stalls, but the government wanted to get them off the streets, so some of them moved inside. Nowadays, there are only about 25 left. If you love stir-fry dishes that are singing with wok hei, the dai pai dong is the place to go.
