In cases of severe chemical burns, extensive symblephara (indicative of conjunctival damage) are present in addition to LSCD. These cases need conjunctival autografting in addition to SLET to address both problems, otherwise the symblepharon tends to recur. This video shows how a regular sized conjunctival autograft can be split to give 180-270 degrees of annular coverage.
