27-MAY-2021. A Delta Air Lines Airbus A320 (A320), registration N342NW, performing flight DAL1205 / DL1205 from Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport, MN (USA) to Baltimore/Washington International Airport, MD (USA), after departure declared an emergency, reported about multiple issues and requested return back to Minneapolis.

DAL1205: Departure, Delta 1205, 2500 climbing to 7000 and looks like we have a mechanical.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1205, Minneapolis Departure, radar contact, maintain 7000, say intentions.
DAL1205: 7000, we’ll need some time to troubleshoot.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1205, roger.
DAL1205: Requesting 4000, Delta 1205.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1205, maintain 4000.

DAL1205: Departure, Delta 1205, we’re declaring an emergency. We will need to return to land, we need some time to troubleshoot.

DAL1205: Yes, sir…
DAL1205: Okay, the nature of the problem is ... It started with a landing gear shock absorber fault. The landing gear did not retract. And also, it looks like several of our brakes stopping. Things are not working. The reversers are not working and normal braking is not working. So we’ll need the long runway, roll the trucks. Souls on board is 142.
DEPARTURE: Roger and do you have fuel on board?
DAL1205: 160 minutes, Delta 1205.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1205, thank you.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1205, turn right heading 040.
DAL1205: Heading 040, Delta 1205.
DEPARTURE: Delta 1205, Since you said you needed the longest runway, RW 4 can be made available, but it's gonna be a half-hour wait.
DAL1205: Yeah…
DAL1205: Yeah, I think 12R is gonna be fine for us right now. We're working through the problem. If it looks like we need 4, we'll let you know as soon as we possibly can.

HOW I DO VIDEOS:
1) I monitor media, airspace, looking for any non-standard, emergency and interesting situation.
2) I find communications of ATC unit for the period of time I need.
3) I take only phrases between air traffic controller and selected flight.
4) I find a flight path of selected aircraft.
5) I make an animation (early couple of videos don’t have animation) of flight path and aircraft, where the aircraft goes on his route.
6) When I edit video I put phrases of communications to specific points in video (in tandem with animation).
7) Together with my comments (voice and text) I edit and make a reconstruction of emergency, non-standard and interesting situation in flight.
