Inside of the Concentration Camps of the Second World War, there were a number of brutal execution methods used upon the prisoners by the SS guards. Inside of Dachau and also Auschwitz were the standing cells, which were also known as the Stehbunker. These tiny oubliette style dungeons were barbaric and prisoners were forced to stand locked in one position for days on end.
The Standing Cells were known for their brutality, and prisoners would often be locked in for over a week and they could not sit down or crouch. The air inside of these cells was tough, and many prisoners succumbed to their torturous ordeal.
