In this video, Jeremy Cioara covers how to configure a frame relay switch (also known as a back-to-back frame relay) in approximately the same amount of time it takes you to eat a hot dog. This is essential knowledge if you’re planning on earning the CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
Frame relay is a technology that Cisco commonly uses in its certification programs, including CCNA, CCNP, and CCIE. For Cisco, frame relay represents all of their packet switch networks, from MPLS style networks to ATM. Some of the major steps Jeremy will cover include turning on the frame relay switching from a global perspective, enabling frame DCE interface processing, and creating your own frame routing table. He will use GNS3 to outline precisely what interfaces go to which router, then discuss various implementation strategies. You’ll also get a glimpse of the service provider perspectives and what they see about frame relay switches from their side.
