Every year, hundreds of thousands of motorcycle injuries occur, often involving broken legs, ribs, and hips. For the past 17 years, the mission has been to reduce the risk of injury in motorcycle crashes. Today, that mission has seen a breakthrough with the introduction of airbag clothes, the world's first airbag jeans and full-body airbag protection.
These innovative clothes connect to the bike using a mechanical trigger belt. The airbag, invisible before activation, deploys within milliseconds when triggered and can be easily reused by reloading a CO2 cartridge. The airbag uses a mechanical trigger system, free of electrical components, ensuring ultra-reliability. It operates like a dead man's switch, activating when the rider disconnects from the bike.
The fabric of these clothes is made from ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, a space-grade fiber stronger than steel, ultra-abrasion-resistant, and of high quality, making it ideal for airbag products. Handmade in Italy and France, the airbag jeans consist of stretchy, ventilated denim and a flat, comfortable, hidden airbag module. The jeans also feature removable CE-rated knee protectors and are available in blue and black.
The airbag vest focuses on protecting the spinal column, stabilizing the helmet when inflated, and includes removable CE-rated back protectors. This innovation, after extensive testing and support from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program, is now ready to be introduced to the public.
Moses Sharivar , the inventor of airbag jeans and motorcycle, developed the world's first motorcycle jeans at 21, initially with leather and Kevlar. After 17 years of development, including endless testing and tweaks, this groundbreaking full-body airbag protection is set to revolutionize motorcycle safety.
