During the onset of World War II, the aircraft carrier emerged as the paramount instrument for delivering naval combat capabilities. The aircraft's advantage against battleships was due to its ability to execute a coordinated assault from distances exceeding 200 miles, whereas battleships were limited to a range of 20 miles or less. Aircraft carriers resemble mobile airfields as they possess a flight deck and facilities for the embarkation, disembarkation, takeoff, and landing of aircraft. This video will present the largest aircraft carriers that were in service during World War II, and they will be ranked based on their total length.
