After the boat capsize tragedy struck in Guwahati, with three deaths till now and many others missing with the rescue team comprising of the SDRF, NDRF and the army still on the lookout for survivors, a major expose has come to the fore on the part of the Inland Waterways department.
The major accident at the Brahmaputra was due to the negligence and poor administration of the Inland waterways department for allowing out dated illegal boats to ferry people across the brahmaputra putting the lives of the passengers at risk.
A major blame could be put upon the inlamd waterways department for doing a shoddy job and not maintaining any strictness on the kinds of boats being used for plying across the brahmaputra.
