Spendius gives Matho an opportunity to save the mercenary army and drive off the armies of Hamicar and Narr'Havas. But Carthage has one last trick. They call apon ancient demons to fight for them in battle.

Please note that this game is fiction. It is based on a book by the same name by Gustave Flaubert. While the Mercenary War did occur, the outcome was very different. In reality Hamilcar did not die, but instead defeated the mercenaries and later would go on to conquer the area that is Spain today. As for Carthage, they would be around for about 100 more years before finally being destroyed by the Romans during the Third Punic War.
