Max is hidden at baron's hed, in the first civilian house you see. The door containing Max is always locked, unless you go up the stairs behind that locked door and come down immediately. You will then meet a girl, and if she closes the door, you'll have to restart the level, so make sure to save your game. Once inside, you'll meet Max. You can interact with him with the key you usually use to interact with people. But, when he tries to go outside, you can now interact with him with a special gimmick:
THE MAX VISION!™
You can see what he's seeing through his eyes, but sadly you won't take control of him, and after 20 seconds you should return to your actual vision.
Max is a great ally if you use it well, first of all because he's invincible, second, because it's Max! The coffee achiever! And it's his last public model made by LucasArts.
Beware of attacking him, he'll roast your ass in a minute.

I used whiteflag (disable ai) before meeting him so that's why you see me entering a code to renable the ai, because Max can't attack when whiteflag is on, and that spoils the fun.
But if you want to see Max's actual behavior and test his Max Vision and entertain yourself a little, feel free to use whiteflag.
