Well, not exactly. This was a re-enactment of a skirmish between the French at the English during the French and Indian War around 1757. Lake George New York was a critical part of the struggle. The French commander Montcalm used Bolton Landing as a marshalling point for his forces as they attempted to take Fort William Henry 10 miles to the south at the present day location of Lake George Village. In point of fact there apparently was never an actual battle here, but these guys do a pretty realistic job with the boats, (bateaux), the costumes, the weapons, and the battle formations.
