Dual carriageways are often seen as the underdog to motorways. There are some really dangerous dual carriageways for example the A34 and A303 in the UK which carry serious amounts of traffic and an increasing amount of HGVs. On a motorway you cannot ride a bicycle, drive a tractor, ride a moped or a mobility scooter. On a Dual Carriageway with the same speed limit of 70mph these are all legal. There is no hard shoulder. The slip roads are dangerously short. You can turn right through the central reservation and you get roundabouts. In my eyes dual carriageways can be far more dangerous than a motorway! The full video is available on our website forming part of our Online Driving Course complete with briefing, camera angles forwards and on the door mirror plus several real dash cam examples using front and rear cameras. As always there are multiple choice. questions to test and further improve what you learn from the video!
